Alpha 2EQ – Alpha 2 Macroglobulin

Alpha 2 Macroglobulin [A2M] is a naturally occurring enzyme in the horses blood that inhibits cartilage breakdown. Inherently it is found in very low quantities within the joint due to its large molecular size and complex structure. To create therapeutic levels within the joint a process starting with a simple blood draw is used to isolate and concentrate the A2M enzyme. One blood draw produces multiple doses that are injected into compromised joints either immediately stall-side or the product can be frozen for future use. It is completely drug free and has no competition restrictions, although we always recommend following your organizations rules for joints injections. Please contact us today to determine if A2M therapy is right for your horse.

What is Alpha 2EQ?

Alpha 2EQ is a system that isolates and concentrates the Alpha 2 Macroglobulin (α2M) molecule from a horse’s blood.

How does Alpha 2EQ Work?

Alpha 2 Macroglobulin (α2M) inhibits all 4 classes of proteases, including the enzymes that breakdown joint cartilage.

How is Alpha 2EQ Administered?

Alpha 2EQ begins with a simple blood draw that is followed by a unique and advanced system resulting in therapeutic concentrations of A2M. This product can then be administered by your veterinarian directly into joints (intra-articular) or in and around soft tissue, such as flexor tendons or suspensory ligaments immediately stall side or frozen for future use.
